Melissa Thom
Episode 2: Exploring Picture Books
Updated: Jun 4, 2020
Books for children aged around 3-5 years old.

Melissa welcomes University of the West of England (UWE) Senior Primary Lecturer (and all round kids' lit expert), Jane Carter into the Spellbound studio to talk about some of the best picture books for young children, aged around 3 to 5 years old. They talk about the impact of reading on health and wellbeing, as well as the types of books to read at this age and some of their favourites.
Melissa also heads off to London to chat to wonderful children's illustrator, Kaye Umansky - Kaye reads a few excerpts from some of her books for younger children.
